How well can your HR systems paint a vivid picture about the person behind the professional? Truth be told, not very well! Remember the analytics firm that allegedly influenced election results for a superpower? They did it largely through fun to fill quizzes on facebook. And here we are, spending hours and millions on analytics and action planning based on people data that is increasingly becoming irrelevant and was always marred by idiosyncratic rater bias! - Gaurav Chaubey, Director - Organisation Design and Strategy Execution, Grant Thornton India

Assembly Elections 2019
Election Commission announced elctions for Haryana and Maharashtra Assemblies to be held on 21st October'19 and Counting of Votes will take place on 24th October'19.
Maharshtra has 288 seats in assembly and in this elections BJP and Shivsena will contest as a Team unlike previous election where they contested separately. Same is case with Congress and NCP who will also contest as a Team unlike previous elections. However Small Parties like Prakash Ambedkar's Party and Mohd Owaisi's party couldn't reach an understanding and will contest separately.
With lot of Local Leaders of Congress and NCP has defected to BJP which strengthens BJP a lot and makes INC and NCP weak. In fact this time its a question of survivor for NCO and INC whereas BJP- ShivSena combine will have a Cakewalk. In BJP & Shiv Sena alliance it will be final in couple if days that who will contest how many Seats but one thing is certain that Devendra Fadanvis will be the leader of this alliance. One thing is very important to note that Aditya Thackeray, son of Uddhav Thackeray, will create history by being the first member of Thackeray family to contest an elction.
Haryana has 90 seats in assembly and BJP has won 47 seats in last elections. However in LokSabha elections BJP made a clean sweep by winning all 10 seats and secured about 58.4% votes. Congress is the only party which has some presence. One thing is very interesting to note that all regional opposition parties are in disarray with most of their local leaders have joined BJP.
BJP is working on a target of 75+ seats out of Total 90 Seats and it seems that it can achieve that and which will be a big thumbs up for Mr Manohar Lal Khattar.

Like it or not, the days of 'management' being a role or a function are long gone. Even with the best intentions, the very design causes silos and organisational drag. Today, 'management' ought to be a behaviour. And roles, well, we all know that those change everyday. Your organisation today needs to be a living organism that responds to stimuli, not a well oiled machine built for consistency. The only 'management' that matters any more is the 'self management' ability (behaviour and enabling structures and processes) of your people, their many teams and eventually the organisation. - Gaurav Chaubey, Director-Organisation Effectiveness & Growth Advisory, Grant Thornton India
